While pecans are known for being versatile and adding great flavor and texture in everything from ice cream to salads, this must try dish proves there is no better way to enjoy pecans in the Fall/Winter than in a hearty slice of pie. 

Offered at 1KEPT, an intimate restaurant known as Atlanta's "best kept secret", Chef Cary Ruf's Valdosta Pecan Pie features freshly harvested pecans from South Georgia that are baked in a caramel filling with subtle, addictive notes of maple. The dense filling is where the dish differs from the standard Southern approach, which often leans toward the "jiggly" side. It's finished with Madagascar vanilla and sea salt ice cream and is a MUST TRY for anyone in Atlanta. Photos are included below.
