East Atlanta Specialty Wine Retailer Hosts Organic Tasting on April 19 and Launches New Wine Club
Atlanta Savor Wine Boutique is celebrating Earth Day with a special tasting of eco-friendly wines the afternoon of Saturday, April 19.  From organic and fair trade, to bio-dynamic and vegan, the special event will feature two tasting stations of sustainably produced wines and provide education on each. Throughout the year, the store encourages customers to “Go Green” by participating in the cork recycling program and drinking wine made with minimal intervention.  With a focus on wine education, the store hosts regularly scheduled complimentary tastings each Wednesday evening from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and Saturday afternoons from2:00-5:00 p.m. Guests are now also invited to become founding members of the Savor Wine Club, which will provide special monthly selections of wine as well as access to exclusive events, tasting panels, member discounts and more.

Saturday, April 19, 2014, 2-5pm

In honor of Earth Day, the community will have the opportunity to savor an extended offering of eco-friendly wines while perusing upcycled jewelry from the Eco Glass Studio.  Guests will enjoy discovering one-of-a kind accessories crafted from wine bottles and other unique pieces of glass. Shay Bustamante, owner of Eco Glass Studio, was inspired to design these unique creations after finishing a bottle of wine with her husband one night. With a passion for art and glass, she decided to combine her interests with recycled items (the empty wine bottles they had on hand). This inspiration led to a beautiful, eco-friendly business of wearable art. Organic Mountains Raw Honey will be introducing guests to their north Georgia collection of organic honeys and skincare line. Founder John Wright combined his passions for natural foods and the north Georgia mountains with his father’s love of beekeeping to bring Atlantans an array of delicious, all natural honeys and honey infused products. Enjoy samples including wildflower, tupelo, orange blossom and gallberry honeys that will make delicious gifts or additions to one’s one pantry. The restorative properties of honey and other all natural ingredients in the moisturizers, cleansers and lotions, will bring a fresh glow to the skin just in time for spring. The tasting is complimentary to attend. All guests must be 21 and older with valid ID. Space is limited. Samples are while supplies last only.

According to Kyla Cox, proprietor of Savor Wine Boutique, many of their customers are eco-philes and care a great deal about what goes into their bodies as well as the world around them.  “We have carefully curated a growing selection of eco-friendly wines and our Earth Day celebration gives us the opportunity to expand our offerings and further showcase wines that are sure to please both the palate and the environment,” states Cox.

Just like the retail store, the wines offered in the Savor Wine Cub are from small, family owned wineries and independent producers from around the world. Most of these wines are not available yet in the store and some selections are so unique and hard to find that they will only be available to club members.  Membership in the club is for three months at a time, with the current spring membership running from April-June. For more information on wine club membership, visit the store or call 404-254-5044.
